Archeus is an American melodic death metal band formed in 2004. Created by friends during high school in the early 2000s, the band developed around the contrast at the center of melodic death metal: weight and motion set against melody, atmosphere, and detail. Its current sound uses heavy rhythm guitars, melodic leads, harsh vocals, keyboards, and cinematic arrangements without separating those elements into background and foreground.

After an extended period away, Archeus returned in 2025 to revisit material from the band's earlier years. The aim was not to present an archive unchanged, but to perform the songs again and bring them into the present with a contemporary production approach. That work became the 2025 release ECHOS, issued on September 12, 2025.

ECHOS contains four songs: “Echos,” “Ignite the Sky,” “In Its Path Infinity,” and “Valediction.” Across the release, guitars and keyboards share the melodic structure while the rhythm section keeps the arrangements direct and physical. The result establishes the vocabulary of the current band without treating its history as a finished chapter.

The rerecording process connects the band's early writing to its present form. Older structures remain recognizable while performances, arrangements, and production are reconsidered for the current recordings. That continuity defines the revival of Archeus: the band is moving forward by returning to earlier material and completing it with the sound and perspective it has now.

Archeus currently consists of Tuomas Kasselgaard Easton on guitars, bass, vocals, and keyboards, with production, and Steve Rowley on drums. The limited lineup gives the recordings a focused internal character while leaving space for each arrangement to move between force, melody, and atmosphere.
